Prices and quotations
All quotations will be valid for 30 days from date of issue.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a cake order and hold the date. Full payment will be required for orders placed within 6 weeks of the event.
The final balance, as stated on the invoice, must be paid 6 weeks before the delivery date. At which point, any changes must be confirmed. You are welcome to pay the full balance earlier if you wish. Failure to comply may result in your order being cancelled.
Refunds and Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payments for orders cancelled less than 6 weeks before the delivery date are non-refundable.
Full payments made more than 6 weeks before the delivery date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total price. If cancelled more than 6 weeks before the delivery date, a partial refund of 50% of the total price paid will be issued.
In the unlikely situation that we need to cancel your order, we will give you as much notice as possible and discuss other alternatives. If you do not wish to accept these alternatives, we will issue a full refund.
If you need to make any alterations to your order, please contact us as soon as possible. All changes to existing orders must be requested in writing. We will try our best to accommodate your changes where possible dependent on notice given and design. We will communicate any changes to the price directly with you. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check any designs, quotes and invoices thoroughly before making payment.
We reserve the right to alter the design of the cake at any point should we encounter circumstances beyond our control (e.g. adverse weather conditions) that may compromise the quality of the finished product. Any changes as such will be made in the client’s best interest, kept to minimum and communicated to you as soon as possible.
Consultations are by appointment only and will be confirmed in writing by Hollyhock Boutique Cakes. We have a limit of up to 3 persons attending a consultation.
Collection, Delivery and Setup
A signature will be required to acknowledge safe receipt upon delivery to the event destination. We cannot be held liable for any damages that occur after delivery of the product. We always aim to deliver within the agreed delivery slot; however this cannot always be guaranteed. In the unlikely event that the cake is delayed, but still arrives before the event takes place, we will not be able to issue a refund. We always strive to keep well within the agreed delivery slot.
A signature will be required when a product is collected from our premises. We cannot be held responsible for any damages that occur after collection. We will advise on appropriate transportation, but the safety of the goods is the responsibility of the buyer.
Cakes placed outside or in hot and humid rooms are likely to react to temperature. Sugar decorations may sag or wilt and other damage to goods may occur if they are not stored correctly. Guidance on how best to store the cake will be provided on the delivery note, at which point it is the responsibility of the client to ensure these guidelines are followed. The delivery note will also include a shelf life, this is only advisory and will be significantly reduced once the cake has been cut into.
Some cakes may contain non-edible parts. These are likely to be dowels to support the internal structure of the cake and wires within sugar flowers. All non-edible parts will be highlighted on the delivery note and must be removed before consumption.
We offer cake stands for hire to complement your cake. Hire charges apply as well as a refundable security deposit. Stands must be returned to our premises within 3 days following the event. We will be unable to refund the deposit if the stand is not returned undamaged 3 days after the event. Once the stand is returned, the deposit will be refunded to the buyer within 7 days. Please note that we do not offer hire of cutting knifes, cake tables or tablecloths.
In the very unlikely event that your cake arrives damaged, it is the buyer’s responsibility to report the damage to us in writing within 48 hours. We require photographic evidence to support any claims of damage if you wish to claim a refund or replacement. We cannot be held liable for damage that occurs after the product has been delivered to the agreed location. All our cakes are fragile and require special attention, we provide guidelines for care, transportation and storage within the delivery note supplied with each order. Due to the nature of materials used, there may be some slight variations in colour and design.
Allergies and Specialist Dietary Requirements
While we will do our best to accommodate dietary requirements, please discuss this before payment. Please note that our products may not be suitable for certain allergies as they are produced in a kitchen that also frequently handles nuts and other allergens. Orders will be accompanied with a list of all known allergens that may have been present during production.
